Jennifer Fisher's experience in healthcare and global advocacy led to her overwhelming passion to cultivate healthy and thriving communities through the prevention of malaria – a critical disease that is hampering the health and economies of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Jennifer has over 14+ years of experience in health public policy, creative economic development, and legislative advocacy across both public and private sectors. Throughout her career, Jennifer has co-led and managed national campaigns which garnered support of Presidential Administrations, Capitol Hill, and public and private stakeholders. As a healthcare lobbyist, she became a staunch advocate for access to healthcare in underserved and rural communities and co-led efforts to secure over $700 million in funding for access to healthcare programs across the country.
Jennifer’s passion for advocacy is the driving force for her work in supporting creative economies. From 2010 through 2014, Jennifer led Fashion Delegate -- an online platform that promoted the work of emerging designers. In 2012, Jennifer served on the advisory board of the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce (GWFCC) as the volunteer Director of Advocacy where she organized and led advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill for emerging fashion designers. Their voice before Congress led to the establishment of the first Fashion Congressional Caucus led by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and former Rep. Diane Watson (D-CA) which provided a platform for emerging creative economies on Capitol Hill.
Later Jennifer Fisher volunteered at the DC Fashion Foundation as Director of External Affairs where she was a member of the development team to establish DC’s first business incubator for fashion designers in partnership with Macy’s. There she represented the incubator before community stakeholders and led collaborations with many groups including the Department of State’s African Women’s Entreprenuership Program and the United States Department of Trade and Commerce to promote the country’s Made in the USA efforts.
Jennifer Fisher is a native of Birmingham, AL and currently resides in Washington, DC.
